My success with Gemcraft Homes started with purchasing a home. I enjoyed the Builder so much I started working for them part time as a Sales Assistant at my community Tiffany Woods in Abingdon. Later I was promoted to a Community Sales Manager and thoroughly enjoyed meeting the people and selling them their dream homes. With the help of my earnings, I purchased my second Gemcraft Home in Bel Air. After that I was promoted to Director of Sales in Delaware and enjoyed leading my Sales Staff very much. But then there was an Company Job Opportunity at Corporate, for which I applied for, and was awarded the position. Now, I currently work as Internal Director of Marketing. I'm involved in the Community Grand Openings, training Community Sales Manager’s and Community Sales Associate’s and I also work in assisting Gemcraft’s Decorators and the Divisions with their Model Homes. My job is so diversified that I never have a boring day. I have learned so much and plan to continue to grow and learn. Gemcraft Homes has given me this opportunity.

Highlights thus far:

The most exciting day for me since I have been with Gemcraft Homes was sitting through my first contract. Seeing how happy the homebuyers were when they put the “Sold” sticker on their home site was exciting – to know that we had just sold them their dream home!

What I like best about Gemcraft:

Working for Gemcraft Homes is less like a job and more like joining a family. You know management and the owners of the company by first name – and better yet, they know your name too! All of the managers and other employees are always helpful and want to make sure that you have all of the resources that you need to do the best job that you can. Every day on the job presents me with new challenges that help me to learn and prepare me to someday soon manage my own Gemcraft Community...

I was recruited by Gemcraft Homes the fall of 2001, my senior year at Grove City College. I was a Business Communications major in search of an assistant production supervisor position with a homebuilder.

In the spring of 2001, I pursued such a position with an established national builder. The company was well known throughout the country; they had been recruiting on campus for years and as a result had developed a strong reputation for being the top builder to work for. I was one of thirty other applicants that interviewed with a representative from their human resources department. It was evident that the culture of that company was highly competitive and that there were very structured career paths set for you once you were hired.

My first impressions of Gemcraft Homes as a company were very positive after meeting and speaking to one of the owners, and vice presidents at the informational meeting held on campus. They were a young company looking to expand rapidly and needed to hire highly motivated, driven people. I interviewed with one of the production mangers at that time. He knew what was entailed in the assistant production supervisor position. Following the interview, I felt that I had gained an accurate representation of the job and company as a whole that I was interviewing for. Gemcraft has a culture that allows an individual to advance and grow based on their own performance, not on set time frames and career paths. I received a call two weeks later with an offer and accepted the position.

Gemcraft Homes was and continues to be a fast growing company, where job opportunities are constant and advancements within the company are abundant. My experience with this company has given me more opportunities than I would have ever had with any national builder.
